The World's Next Genocide?

After reading this article and learning about Catholic Social Teachings I feel that it is everyone's responsibility to take action in Syria. If the lives of others are being put to danger, as Catholics we are responsible to step in and protect those of equal rights. Although both sides of the article are wrong, it is important to be the middle man and make sure that all parties are adequately protected. Although this is true, at times the US has been ridiculed for putting itself in situations that do not concern them. Although these Catholic Social Teachings appear to be the perfect guide for decisions on the international level, I feel that with every situation there is more to examine. As individuals and a nation it is important to do what is right at the moment, or what we believe is best for the greater community. Although these Catholic Social Teachers are available for us we have also learned throughout the course that nothing in black and white or cut and dry.
